Education support is the assistance provided by experts in an educational or learning environment. The support can take many forms, including intensive support, ongoing follow-along, and peer mentoring. Each of these types of support is designed to help the student reach his or her fullest potential.
Intensive support
Intensive education support is a form of academic intervention, which provides students with the skills necessary for success in college. The program can be provided by an individual teacher, or by a team of staff members who work to help students gain the skills needed to succeed. Typically, this type of instruction occurs in a small-group setting, such as three or five students.
Intensive support is an opportunity for students to gain the skills and confidence they need to reach their full academic potential. During the school day, students can engage in activities such as job shadowing, and explore career training programs. In addition to providing instruction, the Intensive Learning Support Program supports youth’s social, functional, and academic development.
Intensive learning sessions can last for one or four weeks. These sessions offer students full courses, as well as interdisciplinary programs, such as internships and service learning. Additionally, it can include acceleration, remediation, and enrichment activities.
Students with significant learning needs require more individualized instruction than the standard protocol. This is why intensive education support is so vital.
Continuing support
Continuing support for education is vitally important. It helps students stay engaged with the curriculum and provides a means to bridge the gap between formal education and the workplace. Additionally, it helps keep workers updated on the latest developments in their industries.
Continuing support for education should not be limited to traditional classrooms, however. In fact, the digital age has ushered in a new breed of educational technology. As a result, universities, colleges and other educational institutions have a greater opportunity to optimize their resources. This includes, but is not limited to, offering online courses and implementing mobile apps. Providing an education portal allows students to study with ease and in the comfort of their own home.
Similarly, it’s no secret that a great teacher can make a huge difference to an entire school. A great teacher can not only teach, but also train others. However, providing a quality education is no easy feat. To do so, a school must not only provide the right people, but also a plethora of learning opportunities.
Peer mentoring
Peer mentoring is a method of connecting students with the resources they need to succeed. It also helps them develop confidence and time management skills.
The goal of this study was to explore the benefits of peer mentoring. In addition to improving communication, leadership, and problem solving, it also helped participants develop a sense of belonging, respect, and tolerance for others. Participants wanted to make a difference in the world, and viewed it as their duty to help others achieve their goals.
While a peer mentor is not a counselor, they may provide guidance and encouragement. They are expected to be a positive role model, and to listen and share their experiences with their mentee.
Peer mentors are often more experienced than their mentees. This can help new undergrads get started on the next phase of their education. By providing a positive role model, a peer mentor can encourage youth to reach their full potential.
Many universities prioritize scholars with leadership experience. A peer mentor can help incoming students become familiar with campus resources, and can even direct them to professional advising, career services, and student advocate offices.
